I go to visit Harriet every now and again.  Harriet is a statuesque lady since she is actually a statue.  She is difficult to find though.  Like many of us as we get older, she has been discarded, relegated to stand alone in an sculpture  graveyard  just South of the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA.  To visit Harriet, you have to take a gravel road off Fish Hatchery Road to get back to her current home back with the other stone and metal sculptures that the hospital has deemed no longer currently relevant to be displayed on the Hospital Grounds with it's recent continuous expansions of office buildings and parking garages.  There is a walking/jogging path that hospital employees and others can use relatively close to the spot where Harriet is constantly standing, but to add insult to injury, Harriet has been placed with her back to this path.  She stands there 24/7 smiling and waving  to no one next to the piles of dirt and mulch, dressed in her "Sunday go to meeting clothes from another time"....her hat, her white scarf, her white purse over her shoulder with her matching white pumps.  So, if you get a chance, stop by and visit Harriet.  Although she will not say much she will always give you her best wave and a smile.
